Sharm El Sheik Showdown
We are back from Egypt and back at work and school.
The Nubian Village Hotel was our destination and as a holiday location for those who like to chill out on there holidays this is a great place to visit. The food was above average for an all inclusive holiday. There is planty of water with three pools, two with bars, kids pools and its own beach. The coral coast line offers some fantastic snorkerling just by walking to the end of the jetty and dropping intothe water. For the more adventurous the area offers the third best rated scuba diving sites in the world.
There is not a great deal of action on a night time but a variety of various excursions into the dessert on quad bikes or horses and of course the camels, star gazing and glass bottom boats, mixed in with local shopping (if you can barter) or for the experienced haggler a trip to Old Charm Market for real bargains.
I was looking forward to a trip to the pyramids, but be warned it is a six hour bus ride or an expensive flight which we had not budgetted for so had to give that a miss this time.
The Egyptian Pound is the local currency, although you can spend Sterling, Euro's, US Dollars just as easily throughout the region.
The temperatures varied between 38 and 48 degrees at end of June, beginning of July bout the constant breeze kept the climate comfertable in the shade. There was quite a lot of upset stomaches about, be careful to avoid putting the air conditioning on too low, a combination of high temperatures, cold drinks, in and out of the pool then having your room too cold on a night time can play havoc with your constitution. If the runs creep up on you, try the local cure of green tea (no milk or sugar) it worked for me. I intend to post a more in depth report on our visit later in the month.

Welcome to the Hudson Family web site

The Hudson family consists of 5 equally important members. Lets start with the two elderly folks who are obviously the engine room of the Hudson family.

This picture comes from that special day 56 years ago. Sorry did I say 56 years, time flies when you're enjoying yourself so much, of course I meant 65 years ago!
Rachael and I were joined together in holy matramony just the other day, excepting that we were both a few years younger. Some days as we all know it can be that good and others not quite so.
Anyway we have been together for quite a while now and we still love each other expensively, sorry, dearly.
